Camping with the HKFYG (Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups) at Hoi Ha, Sai Kung, the pictures come out really well. Other than the group and activities shots (including a crazily fun water ballon fight, camp fire song and dances, etc...) , the scenary shot turns out more than I excepted.
Hoi Ha, is famous for its mavelous starry sky on the summer nights. A friend and I did try to take startrails pictures two years ago at a near location. This year, I was aimed toward capture some milky way shots which I had neverbeen taken before.
ISO up to 1600, lens wide open to f/2.8, long exposure, to be honest, I was a bit skeptical when I read online articles about how to shoot the milk way. Out of my expectation, pictures came out pretty darn good!
Although the night was cloudy, I am quite happy with most the milky way, campfire and the sunset/moonrise shots. There were some lightning strikes behind the clouds, too. But I guess, I will eventually get it next time.
Campfire is burning.
We sing and dances around it.
Sleeping outside under the starry night.
Yes, the little dots are stars! Although it could be more clear, i am still happy enough.
Watching sunset with wild cows.
Moonrise at Hoi Ha.
Things to improved: Compostion wise these pictures are very similar!
